Automotive

WeST_2401
Easy-to-connect module for turn and brake signals in vehicles. With operating mode for combined turn and brake lamp. Can be used in historic tractors and US vehicles to use the original red brake lights as turn signals.

A defect in one or more lamps is detected and signaled by a change in the flashing frequency. It works with both bulbs and modern LED lights and replaces the flasher relay. The module has a built-in self-resetting fuse, can be used with simple switches and is connected via 6.3x0.8mm faston tab terminals.

Our customers use our WeMOTA system to collect data for further development and failure analysis of their systems. Various bus systems as well as analog and digital inputs are available for recording. The data is transferred via mobile network to our servers, processed and the results are offered to the customer for download.

Development tool for the dimensioning of steering gears
Our electronic additional steering angle and torque adjuster can be used for designing the transmission ratio of new steering gears. It is installed in the vehicle instead of the standard steering wheel and adds an additional angle to the steering wheel angle set by the driver. Due to the free programmability of the overlay angle, any steering ratio characteristic curves can be quickly created and tested.

Development of steering actuators for the concept vehicle
We developed the steering actuators for the concept vehicle "VISION AVTR", which was presented at the CES in Las Vegas. The wheels of the front and rear axles of this vehicle can be steered in the same or in opposite directions. For this reason the vehicle can even drive at an angle of up to 30 degrees sideways.

For the HIL simulation we use real time computers as a virtual representation of the system and a real control unit from the customer. The real time computer contains the model of the system as well as the interfaces to the customer's control unit. Relevant states of the system can be programmed. This means that the software can be developed and tested in advance.

Our patented LobbyBox depot system for fully automatic access and goods dispensing systems guarantees round-the-clock service for guests and customers.

Development, construction and programming of the embedded computer systems for electronic coupling of heavy trucks
Our control unit provides the interfaces to the vehicle, the radar, the image processing system and the vehicle-vehicle communication. The algorithms for the lane keeping system, the distance control and the operation of the system run in the developed real time program. Context sensitive menus on a HMI interface display show the driver the possible operations in the current driving situation.

Invention of a redundant predictive emergency braking system with electronic parking brake
We planned and programmed the EE-architecture for the development of an emergency brake assistant. We were responsible for the electronics and control unit architecture, the operating concept and the HMI interface.

Joystick control for development vehicles
We developed and manufactured a steering actuator with a joystick control for a study of the driver's acceptance of alternative controls. This control was installed in the vehicles instead of the steering wheel.

We developed and manufactured several steering actuators for the control of research vehicles. They were used for optical lane keeping and first autonomous driving functions from 1993 to 2000.

In 1993 we developed and manufactured a steering actuator with haptic driver warning for an exhibition booth at the "Hannover Messe". We used this to demonstrate the lane keeping of a vehicle.
